Apron
Product Manager | Bill Pay
Salary
Job description
ABOUT APRON
Apron is building something game-changing.
Founded in 2021, Apron set out to help SMBs win. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, yet the systems they rely on (particularly around payments) are slow, manual and not built for them. The biggest threat to small business is cash flow, often stemming from a gap between the demand payments put on owners and the aptitude to make the payments effectively.
Apron changes that. We are closing the gap by digitising and simplifying the payments process: capturing invoices, issuing expense cards, paying and getting paid, all in one place.
We have grown fast over the past few years, expanding our team to circa 100 individuals across the UK, Germany, Spain and more. We are backed by Index Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Zinal Grow and Tony Fadell and we’ve raised $50m.
The ambition from here is not incremental growth. Apron is building a category-defining, global fintech business with a clear path to significant revenue scale and international expansion. The next phase requires not just great products and ambition, but a world-class Engineering team.
THE ROLE
This role is designed to accelerate your growth and is ideal for someone earlier in their career who wants to learn product management by doing.
You’ll work on Bill Pay: Rewards, one of Apron’s most important growth areas. You’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, and commercial teams to design reward experiences that drive usage and deliver real value to customers.

- Improving the experience of paying suppliers with rewards
- Running experiments to understand customer behaviour
- Make decisions under uncertainty
- Work closely with engineers
- Supporting launches of new reward partnerships

- Communicate clearly and think logically
Bonus (not required)
- Experience with payments or fintech
- Experience analysing data or running experiments

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Small businesses make thousands of payments every year. Most get nothing in return. We believe paying bills should generate value — and this role helps make that happen.
HOW WE WORK AT APRON
This is a high-ownership role with steep learning and real responsibility from day one.
We care about
- Ownership across domains, not handoffs. PMs make calls on commercial, ops, and risk, not just product.
- Attention to detail. We care about our craft.
- Teamwork. We're one big team.
- Fast execution. Decisions in days, not quarters.
- Customer obsession. Talk to customers first-hand, not via research summaries.
- Direct communication. We say what we mean, including when something's wrong.
- Building. We ship it, we own it.
WHAT WE OFFER
💷 Highly competitive salary + meaningful stock options 📈 Pension plan with Nest 🏥 Health insurance (including Optical and Dental cover), Life Assurance 🚼 Enhanced parental leave 🥗 Weekly Deliveroo allowance 🌴 29 days of holidays (on top of Bank holidays) ☕ Flexible working hours 📍 Hybrid work 3 days a week in our London (Liverpool Street) offices. 🚲 Cycle to Work scheme, Electric vehicle scheme 🌍 Visa sponsorship (if applicable)
FINAL NOTE
This is not a passive role. You’ll build, ship, learn — and help shape one of Apron’s most important products.
