Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sr Director, Data Strategy & Analytics, this position will have the unique opportunity to support the management and implementation of transformations to the Ocular Data Management System and support the integration of large data assets and analytics into the Ocular CRM. This role will be responsible for working closely with the Commercial Operations team, and across the US Commercial Organization to further develop and support the Data Management strategy that is aligned with Ocular’s organizational needs. This position will focus on developing new and managing existing processes for effective data management that will ensure the completeness, accuracy, legitimacy, and usability of the Ocular Data Warehouse. This position will also work closely external vendor partners that are responsible for assisting with the ongoing management of the Ocular Data Warehouse to ensure that all processes continue to be mapped and aligned accordingly.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Accountable to support Ocular’s overarching Data Management strategy and for working closely with the Sr Director, Data Strategy & Analytics, and our Data Warehouse provider to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and efficiency of all data streams.
  • Identify, consolidate, and rationalize ongoing data management
  • Work closely with the Sr Director, Data Strategy & Analytics, Associate, Business Analytics, and other key stakeholders to support strategic and tactical decision-making through in-depth analytics.
  • Support reporting needs and ensure timely and accurate production/generation with Commercial partners.
  • Support Commercial Operations teams (with territory alignment and incentive compensation) to provide analyses, recommendations, and support integration of all databases/programs impacted by these changes from these teams as they affect the field.
  • In partnership with the Sr Director, Data Strategy & Analytics define requirements, business rules and processes for external data source integration into data warehouse.
  • In partnership with the Sr Director, Data Strategy & Analytics and Associate, Business Analytics select and deploy appropriate technology platforms and software/apps to support reporting requirements.
  • In partnership with the Sr Director, Data Strategy & Analytics, and internal data customers (e.g., Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain) develop, maintain, and improve the company’s channel, sales, and patient data model.
  • Manage and influence external data vendors, data aggregators, and other functional areas to validate data sources (national, sub-national, specialty distributors, patient hub, 3PL, payer, etc.), rectify and communicate corrections to ensure completeness, accuracy, credibility, and usability of all data sources.
  • Resolve source data discrepancies and implement root-cause corrections to prevent future
  • Ensure high quality and compliant data processes leading to a high level of confidence within management team.

Business Systems and Data Processing:

  • In partnership with the Commercial Operations team, help define requirements, business rules and processes for external data source integration into Ocular’s data warehouse.
  • In partnership with the Commercial Operations team, select and deploy appropriate technology platforms and software/apps to support reporting requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

In-Direct: this position will have some responsibility for vendor management.

Qualification Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems degree (major or minor)
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in data management and analytics within bio/pharma.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS; Veeva; Salesforce).
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant relational databases and ETL technologies (e.g., Amazon Redshift; Pentaho).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (e.g., Outlook; Word; Excel; PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrable track record of success in delivering strategies within data management, customer master, patient journey, and analytics to drive commercial growth and brand awareness.
  • Solid understanding of the technical and compliance aspects of a data warehouse environment and database management
  • Experience in generating commercial insights from large transactional data sets, including Medical Claims and Specialty Distributor data.
  • Proven ability to understand and inform strategy across multiple stakeholders to act based on analytics and insights.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with changing priorities with multiple, time sensitive priorities.
  • Interest to learn and pioneer technology and analytical adoption in life sciences
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills across a wide range of business issues (e.g., sales, marketing, operations, medical affairs, market access, etc.)
  • Broad expertise in developing computing strategies for statistical analysis &
  • Strong technical and analytic skills, proficient at understanding and conceptualizing business problems and implementing analytic or decision support solutions.
  • Working knowledge of marketing analytics and sales analytics

Salary Range
$105,000-$120,000 USD
