Overview JOB PURPOSE Corporate position responsible for providing coordination of the Company safety and health programs, with emphasis on industrial hygiene programs, in order to minimize loss due to injury, illness, vehicle incidents and equipment failures. Provides support throughout the company and its subsidiaries and ensure compliance with Occupational safety and health standards, regulations and company safety and health rules for the establishment of a safe and healthful work environment. Responsibilities Essential Functions Coordinate corporate industrial hygiene programs regarding asbestos, arsenic, lead, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, hazard communication, process safety management and the corporate radiation program. Coordinate air and noise monitoring with industrial hygiene contractors. Coordinate employee physicals with the mobile testing contractor and serve as contract proponent. Manage the maintenance of the corporate Safety Data Sheet system. Provide recommendations and assistance for development of corporate health and safety policy. Coordinate and conduct corporate Health and Safety audits and reviews. Conduct routine site visits and safety observations. Coordinate and provide guidance for investigations of serious or life-threatening incidents. Provide health and safety consultation and expertise to the lines of business. Assist in the development of health and safety training and participate in training and educational sessions as needed throughout the corporation. Provide OSHA standard interpretations and recommended Best Practices to the lines of business on an ongoing basis. Communicate and advise Management of current development and government activity in occupational safety and health. Provide guidance for contests and litigation involving the company and the Occupational Safety & Health program. Coordinate compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, OSH training and communication with federal and state OSHA-jurisdictional agencies. Provide safety data reporting as needed. Participate in OSH associations and professional organizations for contacts with regulatory agencies and other utilities in order to share and exchange information to enhance the company’s programs. Maintain personal professional development. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in health and safety engineering or industrial Hygiene. 7+ years' experience in OSHA/safety and health field. Preferred Qualifications Extensive expertise and knowledge of OSHA technical standards and industry Best Practices regarding safety and health and perspective field work. Knowledge of SharePoint and/or other database structures.
