POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Measurement and Instrumentation Technician ensures the integrity and reliability of natural gas meters, measurement recording and gas sampling equipment and responsible for operations and maintenance at metering facilities. Special focus will be placed on: Install, configure, troubleshoot, operate, maintain, inspect, test, and calibrate electronic flow meters, associated measurement and communications equipment, control and relief valves Witness testing and calibration of third-party meters Collect gas samples Maintain typical pipeline equipment, basic measurement equipment, valves, etc. Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of pipeline facilities in accordance with company procedures, policies and DOT regulations Complete applicable reporting and electronic documentation of key operating data Communicate at a technical level and interface with measurement, operations, engineering groups, and contractors Other duties and special projects as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role Must be able to prioritize tasks Possess strong communication skills Capable of physical duties in an outdoor environment Working knowledge of electronic flow meters as well as associated equipment and valves Experience with testing & calibrating equipment Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain) Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses). Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle. Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights Lifts or carries 70 lbs. or more, which falls into the "heavy" category (over 50 pounds). Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs. Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position. Driver Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record This position involves operating a company vehicle for work-related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required. Candidates must be eligible to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
