Job description

Overview BigBear.ai is seeking an HR Intern to assist the foundation of a modern HR function in a fast-paced government contracting environment. Are you looking for an internship where you can do more than observe—where you can actually shape how HR operates? As a Human Resources Intern, you’ll work directly with both our HR Business Partner (HRBP) and Talent Acquisition (TA) teams to drive real impact across HR operations, reporting, and recruiting strategy. This is a hands-on opportunity to help modernize processes, improve data integrity, and contribute to hiring initiatives that support critical government programs. You’ll gain exposure to the full employee lifecycle while working in a structured, compliance-driven environment—an ideal experience for someone interested in HR analytics, operations, or recruiting. What you will do HR Operations & HRBP Support Evaluate and streamline HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and efficiency Design and build a centralized SOP library to ensure continuity and scalability across the organization Partner with HRBPs to manage and prioritize inquiries through the HR inbox Talent Acquisition & Market Insights Research competitor job postings and compensation trends to strengthen our hiring strategy Enhance job descriptions to better attract and engage top talent Support recruiting initiatives through social media content and employer branding efforts Additional Responsibilities Support ad hoc HR and Talent Acquisition projects as business needs evolve Assist with special projects related to process improvement, reporting, and recruiting initiatives Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the HR function What You’ll Gain Real-world experience across HR operations, analytics, and recruiting Direct exposure to HR systems, reporting, and process improvement initiatives The opportunity to influence how HR supports a growing, mission-driven organization Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and data-driven HR decision-making Mentorship from experienced HR and Talent Acquisition professionals What you need to have Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process improvement mindset Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret and present data clearly Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Interest in HR operations, reporting, or recruiting within a professional environment What we'd like you to have Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or recruiting tools Interest in process improvement, documentation, or building scalable workflows Strong written communication skills, particularly in professional or business settings About BigBear.ai BigBear.ai is a leading provider of AI-powered decision intelligence solutions for national security, supply chain management, and digital identity.
