You Will: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Patient Service Representative Greets and registers patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner. Obtains proper insurance and patient information, collects signatures, and ensures accuracy and completion of necessary documentation. Verifies and updates patient/physician/insurance changes to ensure proper billing. Collects and records and ensures proper handling of co-pays and fees. Answers and transfers incoming phone calls. Schedules, reschedules or cancels new or current patients, confirms appointments, and notifies staff of changes when necessary. Enters accurate information in the system. Pre-registers, submits reports and documents, inputs clinical data for the appointment, and requests prior imaging as needed. Gives patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols. Respond to patients' questions and concerns and refer to supervisors when necessary in an expedient manner. Maintains awareness of the temperament/mood of patients in the lobby to ensure optimal service experience and curtail any frustrations or communication that could affect the experience of other patients. Communicates appointment delays in a timely fashion and offers to reschedule in circumstances where delays could be significant. Coordinates with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients. Obtains proper authorization and identification before release of confidential medical records. Uses clerical skills (e.g. filing, organizing, processing incoming mail, etc.). Provides management with reports and logs when required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an MRI Technical Aide Takes accurate patient medical histories with MRI safety and records information into patients’ medical charts and/or electronic medical records systems for patient flow and accurate encounter documentation. Accurately maintains and records patient communication during exams. Stocks and maintains all supply levels for assigned area; orders and restocks following site guidelines/protocols. Support technologists with procedures as needed, including setting up coils, scheduling maintenance, and/or cleaning the MRI suite, and other duties as assigned. May administer oral contrast to patients and provide instructions as needed under the direction of a technologist. Comply with all HIPAA, confidentiality, and safety guidelines for a laboratory / clinical environment. Ensures appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and exercises universal precautions when dealing with all patients and exams. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant MRI control room space. Decontaminate equipment, coils, and exam/control room using the designated products and procedures. Respond to requests and questions efficiently, effectively, and positively. Handles upset or irate individuals professionally and courteously. Remains aware of appointment delays and schedule changes and regularly communicates to the front desk team and/or Site Management. May burn CDs as indicated. Report any equipment malfunctions to MRI Steering Technologist and Site Manager. Assists in the performance of QC, including daily visual checklist and weekly QC. Accurately and correctly positions patients for exams, including placement of coils. Assist with completing all patient screening documents and scan them appropriately. Assists with lifting and transferring physically challenged patients to and from exam tables May remove and properly dispose of IV catheters, bandages, and puncture sites. Provide any discharge instructions in conjunction with the MRI Steering Technologist. Communicates effectively with the MRI Steering Technologist. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a DEXA Technologist Performs high-quality DEXA (Bone Density) and diagnostic radiographic services (limited to chest, extremities, skull, and torso-skeletal) on patients within the legal scope of licensure. Monitors patient's well-being during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action. Responds to physician questions regarding exams. Greets incoming patients and visitors. Coordinates with office staff for timely care of patients. Cross-trains and helps as needed with patient registration, as a Technologist Aide, and/or in other departments. Operates imaging equipment correctly. Positions patients correctly. Explain the radiology procedure to the patient before performing the exam. Immobilizes the patient as necessary. Practices radiation protection. Evaluate radiographs and/or DEXA scans for technical quality. Maintains patient records and filing system. Prepares supply orders and forwards them to the radiology technologist. Maintains equipment and keeps work area clean. Produces high-quality diagnostic images and /or bone density scans on time while providing excellent patient care. Treats patients and customers, including family members or care providers who may accompany the patient, with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Understands and uses the equipment's scales, field of view, gain, voltage, amps, and other adjustments and factors to produce high-quality images and/or DEXA scans. If You Are: Graduated from the ImagingWorks program and perform duties as a Patient Service Representative, MRI Technical Assistant, and DEXA Technologist. This position will play a vital role in the assigned region and assist in coverage at the home location and as assigned across the region. Passionate about patient care and exercise sound judgement and an ability to remain professional in all situations. You demonstrate effective and professional communication, interpersonal skills and respect with patients, guests & colleagues. You have a structured work-approach, understand complex problems and you are able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. To Ensure Success in This Role, You Must Have: Must have graduated from the ImagingWorks Intern program Must have a valid and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must have a valid and current California State DEXA license Must have one of the following: a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) Possesses and utilizes excellent customer service skills, strong public relations skills, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be detail-oriented and organized, possess clerical skills, and have the ability to interact effectively with doctors, referring doctors and staff, patients, vendors, peers, and management.
