Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Controls Manager to join our organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive project controls frameworks that ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions that drive project success. - Develop, implement, and maintain integrated project control systems including schedule, budget, and resource management
- Monitor project performance against established baselines and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular analysis and reporting to stakeholders
- Conduct earned value management (EVM) analysis to track project progress and forecast final costs and completion dates
- Identify schedule and budget variances, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare comprehensive project status reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership and project teams
- Manage project change control processes, ensuring all modifications are properly documented, evaluated, and approved
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure accurate budget forecasting and cost tracking
- Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software, ensuring critical path analysis and resource optimization
- Conduct risk assessments and support risk mitigation planning to protect project objectives
- Train and mentor project team members on controls processes, tools, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing controls data and recommending process enhancements
**Required Skills & Competencies:**
- Advanced proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6, Oracle fusion ERP system or equivalent platforms)
- Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, modeling, and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in budget tracking, cost control, and financial forecasting
- Expertise in schedule development, critical path analysis, and resource planning
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and organizational levels
- Leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
**Required Experience:**
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in project controls, project management, or related field
- Proven track record in budget management, cost forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules and performance metrics
- Background in change management and risk management processes
- Experience preparing executive-level reports and presentations
**Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (preferred)
- CCP certificate - Certified Cost Professional certification or similar (preferred)
**Domain Expertise:**
- Experience in construction, engineering, or capital project delivery environments
- Familiarity with earned value management systems and integrated project controls
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabia's business environment and regulatory landscape (preferred)
