Join Oshkosh Aerotech as an HVAC Technician, where you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems across airport facilities and airside support equipment. This role may support building HVAC systems, rooftop units, passenger boarding bridge HVAC systems, pre-conditioned air units, ground power units, motors, pumps, compressors, controls, and associated mechanical and electrical components.

You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance, interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, and hands-on HVAC repairs, including refrigerant leak repair, component replacement, brazing, basic pipefitting, and related fabrication as needed. . This position is ideal for a skilled HVAC professional who is committed to safety, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-paced airport operations environment.

YOUR IMPACT 

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize HVAC systems across airport facilities and airside support equipment.

  • Service and repair equipment such as building HVAC systems, rooftop units, passenger boarding bridge HVAC systems, pre-conditioned air units, ground power units, motors, pumps, compressors, fans, ducts, controls, and related components.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, and control systems.

  • Perform hands-on HVAC repairs, including refrigerant leak repair, component replacement, brazing, basic pipefitting, and related fabrication as needed.

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.

  • Work safely in airport facilities and active Airport Operations Areas, including around aircraft, ground service equipment, vehicle traffic, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and other operational areas.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety guidelines, airport procedures, and required training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • EPA Section 608 Certification

  • 3 years of related HVAC and/or electrical maintenance and repair experience in a commercial, industrial, airport, or facilities environment.

  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance. 

  • Availability to work variable shifts, including day or night shift, weekends, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in airport operations, facilities maintenance, passenger boarding bridges, ground support equipment, or industrial/commercial HVAC.

  • Experience with Johnson Controls systems or similar building automation/control systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use common software applications or maintenance management systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

While performing the duties of HVAC Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.
