This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
The Electromechanical Technician I (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for performing technical tasks related to electro-mechanical systems, including troubleshooting, testing, assembling, installing, calibrating, and repairing equipment. You will be expected to build effective and meaningful relationships with engineers to develop technical solutions.
Specifics Include:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components on production equipment
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs)
Help with the execution of CCRs and validations
Detail work accurately per company and regulatory policies (within Maximo, on test scripts/protocols, etc.
Be the first responder for potential SIF conditions (if applicable)
Support engineering and MS&T projects as needed
May take part in CAPA and/or FEMA activities
Participate in small-size projects for continuous process and yield improvement within and outside of functional area
Ensure smooth daily operations between engineering and providing parts and tooling support
Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information
Assist supervisor and production support lead in tests and trials for potential process changes and improvements
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
1 Year of Relevant Experience
Work Hours: 3rd Shift: Sunday – Thursday: 11:00 PM EST -7:00 AM EST, with occasional flexibility based on business needs
Travel Requirements: 0-10%
Location: Onsite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Industrial Maintenance Experience
Experience troubleshooting & repairing production equipment
A related technical school certification or equivalent training or experience (e.g. manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, etc.)
Solid foundation in robotics, electrical systems, computers, and mechanical systems
Ability to perform qualitative analysis of data is a plus
Usage of CAD package is a plus
Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and study sample parts for machining work
Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills
