UW-Parkside’s Office of University Advancement seeks a highly motivated student employee to assist in telling UW-Parkside’s story to university supporters. Through this position, you will gain professional experience working in a nonprofit setting, sharpen your communication and research skills, and contribute in important ways to University Advancement’s goals for fundraising and strengthening alumni and donor relationships. University Advancement is responsible for alumni and donor relations and helping raise private funds from individuals, corporations and foundations to support student success and educational initiatives at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Development Associate will report to the Director of Annual Giving.
Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement & Outreach: Conduct outbound phone calls to university supporters to express gratitude, share campus updates, and gather information about their UW-Parkside experience.
Database Management: Maintain the integrity of the Raiser’s Edge database by processing email unsubscribes, updating contact information, and ensuring donor records are accurate (and other projects as assigned).
Communications Support: Assist in drafting content for high-level communications, including the Chancellor’s Society and Alumni e-news.
Digital Content Assistance: Help design the layout of email communications and digital marketing materials to ensure a visually engaging experience for alumni and donors.
Event Representation: Serve as a student ambassador during University Advancement events to facilitate a positive experience for guests and supporters.
General Support: Execute other administrative or creative projects assigned to support the goals of the Annual Giving department.

Required Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled at UW Parkside.
Must be proactive, self-directed, detail-oriented, and organized.
Must be flexible and willing to adjust to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Must possess the capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based applications and/or databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
Students with an interest in non-profit management, fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, and/or data management.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Must be able to communicate professionally with a variety of audiences, while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Comfortable with phone-based outreach.
