THE OPPORTUNITY

Positioned at the forefront of innovation in warehouse automation, this is an exciting time to be part of Dematic. We are a global leader in intelligent intralogistics and material handling solutions, and our Project Delivery team is continuing to deliver complex, high-impact projects across APAC.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Project Site Warehouse Manager to join us on a two year full-time fixed term contract. In this pivotal role, you will support two major project sites in Tarneit and Deer Park, VIC, overseeing logistics operations from a nearby offsite warehouse. 

Dematic is utilising approximately 30,000 sqm of warehouse space to temporarily store, stage and supply equipment for installation on customer project sites. You will take ownership of receiving and dispatch functions, inventory levels, freight and labour costs, and MRP data accuracy, while working closely with project stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

Working closely with project stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring project milestones are delivered safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Manage warehouse staff to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations

  • Oversee receiving, dispatch and inventory control to meet project and installation schedules

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to prioritise dispatches and manage expectations

  • Manage warehouse labour, freight and storage costs in line with project budgets

  • Maintain accurate inventory and MRP data, including tracking, receipting and reporting

  • Establish and improve warehouse processes, layouts and material flow

  • Liaise with Production Planning, Purchasing and Suppliers on inventory, packaging and freight

  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems and reporting cadence

  • Manage damaged goods, quarantine processes and issue escalation

  • Oversee forklifts, equipment maintenance and facility close-out at project completion

  • Ensure compliance with Dematic safety standards, including audits, SWMS and site reviews

Tasks and Qualifications:

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS REQUIRES

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a warehouse environment, ideally within a manufacturing/logistics or project-based industry

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management and receiving/dispatch processes

  • Strong computer skills in MS office products

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems

  • Proven ability to support teams, manage costs, suppliers and multiple stakeholders

  • A strong safety mindset with hands-on experience in audits, SWMS and safe work practices

  • Excellent team player with strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to travel to both client sites

  • Drivers Licence with access to personal vehicle
