Job description

Hilbert is a scalable, data science-first growth engine that gives B2C teams predictive clarity into user behavior, revenue drivers, and the actions that drive sustainable growth. Fully agentic by design, Hilbert shrinks months-long decision cycles to minutes.

From Fortune 10 enterprises to beloved brands like FreshDirect, Blank Street, and Levain Bakery, operators run their growth on Hilbert. We're also co-building alongside leading AI companies.

Grocery, QSR & Retail is where Hilbert meets some of its highest-frequency, highest-stakes customers — businesses where a single point of retention or basket size compounds into millions, and where decisions move on a daily rhythm, not a quarterly one. We are building the team that owns this surface, and we are hiring the early operators who will grow inside it.

THE ROLE

You will join the Grocery, QSR & Retail team as an early-career operator working directly under the Head of the vertical. Your work sits at the intersection of customer impact and product evolution: you run Hilbert against real growth problems in grocery, QSR, and retail, and what you learn there feeds back into how the product develops.

This is not a support role. It is a learning-by-doing role with consequence. You will be in the data, in the customer's problem, and in the room when decisions get made. You are expected to bring sharp questions, structured analysis, and a hunger to understand growth at the level of mechanics — not slogans.

Core Responsibilities

  • Run Hilbert against customer datasets — cohorts, basket dynamics, visit frequency, channel performance — and surface what the product gets right, what it misses, and where its reasoning needs sharpening
  • Translate findings into structured input for the product and tech teams, in partnership with the Head of the vertical
  • Support Account Executives in turning Hilbert's outputs into clear growth narratives for customers: win-back, LTV intervention, assortment shifts, paid reallocation
  • Own pieces of the customer relationship end-to-end as you grow into them — prep, present, follow through, learn from what worked and what didn't
  • Build deep fluency in the mechanics of grocery, QSR, and retail growth: share of wallet, loyalty economics, promotional lift, the difference between a real cohort effect and a pricing artifact

WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE

This is for people who think differently about problems. You may not have owned a growth function — but you have done something where the outcome mattered, you owned a piece of it, and you can describe what you did with precision.

  • You have analytical chops you can show: SQL, a notebook, a model, a project where you wrestled with messy data and came out with something real. Artifacts beat credentials.
  • You are drawn to B2C — to consumer behavior, retention, why people come back, why they don't. Direct exposure to grocery, QSR, retail, CPG, or adjacent industries is a plus, even if brief.
  • You think in systems and reach for evidence. When asked "why," you do not stop at the first answer. You default to testing, measuring, and updating your priors.
  • You can describe a project failure with the same precision as a win. Specific matters more than impressive.
  • You are comfortable working alongside AI systems and curious about where they break — and where human judgment still wins.
  • You want to learn from operators who have been in the room when real growth decisions got made, and you are willing to be coached hard.
  • You believe there is something fundamentally broken about how the industry talks about "growth," and you want to be part of rebuilding it.

What you do not need: a perfect resume, a famous logo, or years of title-bearing experience. What you do need: evidence of sharp thinking, ownership instinct, and judgment that does not come from a textbook.
