Job Summary

Summary:
The mailroom clerk is responsible for receiving, sorting, and distributing all the mail that arrives at Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital. They also provide support to the warehouse by attending to internal customers and answering the phone.

Essential Functions:
-Turn on postage meter and copy machines and restock as necessary
-Organize mail that has been dropped off after hours.
-Receive, sort, distribute and pick up all mail as necessary.
-Meter and stamp all outgoing mail
-Separate all outgoing mail for pick up (USPS or Pitney Bowes)
-Place all outgoing mail in appropriate areas for pick up
-Perform and monitor all updates necessary for postage machine
-On a monthly or as need basis submit department usage reports for metered mail to Manager of Materials Management
-On a monthly or as need basis add funds to postage meter
-On an as need basis contact technicians for repairing of broken mailroom equipment
-Order mailroom supplies as needed
-Update existing names and offices (mail file) on a continual basis to maintain accuracy
-Express issue items that were distributed from the warehouse
-Provide assistance with supply requisitions to internal customers as well as attend to the warehouse phone
-Make ancillary deliveries as needed
-Conduct daily cycle counts on minimum of 10 products to ensure inventory accuracy
-Reports and stockouts or discrepancies to Supervisor or Manager
-Maintains temperature log in the warehouse
-Performs duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Manager


 

Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English: oral, written and typed. - Ability to converse with patients and staff in a friendly and courteous manner. - Must be able to follow instructions, printed or verbal.
