Job description

PRODUCTION STRATEGY

Plays a strategic role in developing and implementing production strategies, allocating resources, and leading process improvement initiatives.

The Senior Production Manager is responsible for resolving complex issues and ensuring that projects remain on schedule.

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION

Oversee every stage of production, from initial planning and budgeting to scheduling and contract negotiations.

Manage on-site production activities, including supervision of production crews, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and legal and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with key stakeholders—including safety and risk management, finance, post-production, production technology, talent, legal, and all other internal departments—to ensure the highest-quality production.

Manage relationships with external production partners, talent, and agencies, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication.

TEAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Provides leadership and mentorship to Production Managers and their teams, supporting their professional development and growth.

Manages the production management team’s day-to-day responsibilities and key areas of focus.

Drives innovation and continuous improvement throughout the production lifecycle.

Is responsible for sourcing and developing a strong network of experienced production partners, vendors, and talent.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION

Communicates and collaborates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, other departments, and external partners, and can act as a production representative with third parties, production partners, and development executives.

Manages a slate of programming from development through delivery, including in‑house, commissioned, live, and pre‑recorded content.

Identifies revenue responsibilities and builds cash-flow models to ensure financial compliance.

Produces departmental forecasts for current projects, gathering and communicating all relevant information from external partners and internal productions.

Communicates project budgets, along with associated risks and opportunities, to key stakeholders both in the regions and in Santa Monica.

Provides regular updates on project status and progress to senior management.

5+ years’ experience in production management or line producing

A proven track record in managing both a slate of programs and third‑party companies

A strong record of delivering successful commissions

Excellent budgeting and financial management skills

Ability to think strategically and develop solutions to logistical, financial, and other issues

Strong conceptual thinking, initiative, and problem‑solving skills

Diplomacy and sensitivity in dealing with others

Resourcefulness and the ability to troubleshoot effectively

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Precise attention to detail and a methodical approach to work

Excellent organisational abilities

Strong IT skills and knowledge of relevant software packages

Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures, including Copyright, Guilds/Unions, Data Protection, Risk/Insurance, Clearances, etc., and how to comply with regulatory requirements

Knowledge of the requirements of relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $85,360 - 128,040 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
