About GLG's Events Marketing Team
GLG is the world's leading platform for trusted human expertise. We deliver access to the freshest perspectives of the world’s experts at the forefront of their industries, so clients can gain a strategic edge. Our global teams leverage leading technology and decades of proprietary data to help our clients answer business-critical and complex questions within the industry’s most trusted research environment.
Position Overview
GLG's Senior Associate, Event Marketing sits within the Marketing function and is responsible for marketing GLG's events to the right clients at the right time. This role is responsible for audience acquisition for events in GLG's portfolio — combining campaign execution with targeted outreach to convert the right clients into registered attendees and engaged participants. Day-to-day, the Events Specialist partners closely with event programmers, content leads, and marketing operations to plan campaign strategy, develop promotional copy, target the right client audiences, and drive RSVPs and attendance.
Overall Values
We seek bright, positive, and flexible people who also:
• Act with the highest integrity and professionalism in all their endeavors
• Utilize superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Think creatively and focus on opportunities for growth and lead others to do the same
• Express a strong desire to work in a team
• Respond effectively to management direction and clients' needs
• Demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
Key Responsibilities
Client outreach and audience development
• Conduct daily direct email to clients to drive attendance and engagement across all event types
• Partner with event programmers and content leads to build and refine target audience lists aligned to each event's topic and maximize RSVP conversion/event fill rates
• Deliver client-facing communications with a high bar for professionalism, clarity, and brand voice across both written and verbal channels
Marketing campaign execution
• Support the development and execution of email marketing campaigns promoting GLG events, including audience segmentation, campaign build, deployment, and performance tracking
• Write and edit promotional and descriptive copy for event invitations, landing pages, reminders, and post-event follow-ups
• Collaborate with Marketing Operations and Brand to ensure outreach and campaign activity align with broader marketing programs and messaging standards
• Track and report on email and outreach campaign performance against standard marketing metrics -- open rates, click-through rates, RSVP and conversion rates, unsubscribes -- and translate insights into improvements
Event project and logistical support
• Support the operational management of multiple concurrent meetings and events, including strategic scheduling across industry programs
• Research and suggest alternative GLG Network Members to align expert lineups with content and audience needs
• Provide workflow support and serve as a back-up to Event Managers as needed
• Track project-level budget and ROI inputs tied to outreach and marketing activity
Required Skills
Potential candidates must possess:
• Bachelor's degree, equivalent experience, or certification(s) in a related industry
• Ideally, 2+ years of experience in marketing, email marketing, or campaign management, preferably in a B2B or professional services environment
• Demonstrated experience executing email marketing campaigns, including audience segmentation, A/B testing, deployment, and performance reporting
• Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms, with Marketo experience strongly preferred
• Across all positions, we insist upon excellence, integrity, creativity, and a high level of professionalism
Preferred experience includes:
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns, events, or projects, with strong prioritization and time management
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including copywriting and basic copy-editing for promotional materials
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with audience lists, segmentation, and campaign QA
• Track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams across Marketing, Content, and Sales partners
• Comfort working in a rigorous, fast-moving environment and adapting to shifting priorities
• Results orientation paired with consistency and process discipline
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular); familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, and reporting tools is a plus
