Job description

We are looking for a visionary leader with a passion for accounting and reporting, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), and finance optimisation, to join our ARA team and help our clients navigate the ever-evolving landscape of regulatory, and business complexities, by driving excellence and delivering holistic and innovative solutions.

You will lead end-to-end design, implementation, remediation, maintenance & monitoring assignments, ensuring our clients’ accounting policies, processes, controls, and systems are robust and future-ready.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior and dynamic CA(SA) professional to act as a trusted advisor to clients driving excellence in corporate reporting outcomes. You will be required to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, as well as winning new business, and delivering impactful results in both the JSE listed and SEC regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic insights and technical guidance to clients on complex accounting and reporting matters.
  • Lead and deliver complex projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deliver professional presentations and high-quality reports to support client decision-making.
  • Contribute to business development and the growth of our Assurance Services team with an understanding of the adjacent offerings.
  • Assess and enhance the design effectiveness and remediation of internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Define finance policies and implement best practices in financial reporting, consolidation, and control frameworks.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • 12+ years’ experience in a senior finance, external audit, or professional services role
  • CA(SA) designation with a strong technical background in financial controls, reporting, and accounting.
  • Registered Auditor designation would be beneficial. Proven experience within   the financial close and reporting process
  • Demonstrated business acumen and a client delivery focus.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing change and ambiguity with ease.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Knowledge of PCAOB audit requirements or equivalent experience would be beneficial.
  • Excellent senior client relationship (C-Suite) management and communication skills.
