Job description

At Uncommon Schools, you’ll help ensure staff and leaders receive thoughtful, responsive support across Employee Relations and Talent Strategy processes. In this role, you’ll work closely with teams across the organization to manage employee relations workflows, support day to day operations, and help maintain clear, accessible resources for staff and managers. You’ll play an important role in helping systems run smoothly, supporting staff experiences, and ensuring leaders have the information and tools they need to effectively support their teams. This role partners closely with the Talent Strategy and Employee Relations teams and supports staff across the organization.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations Support

  • Provide first response support for Employee Relations tickets and cases
  • Own Tier 1 Employee Relations cases from escalation through resolution
  • Manage unemployment claims and employment authorization escalations
  • Support visa sponsorship processes and escalations

Data, Reporting & Case Management

  • Maintain accurate Employee Relations data across HR Acuity and other dashboards
  • Manage, summarize, and report on exit interviews for staff
  • Pull, summarize, and deliver Employee Relations data for reporting and progress monitoring
  • Ensure Employee Relations documentation and records remain organized and up to date

Talent Strategy & Team Operations

  • Manage Talent Strategy and Employee Relations Zendesk instances by responding to tickets and routing requests appropriately
  • Maintain internal knowledge bases with current policies, professional development resources, and Talent Strategy materials
  • Support invoice processing, reimbursements, and credit card reconciliation
  • Manage the Chief Talent Officer’s calendar, meeting coordination, and travel logistics

Learning & Development Support

  • Provide operational support for Learning & Development initiatives
  • Support communications, materials organization, printing, and room reservations for team programming and events
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience required
  • 1 to 2 years of directly relevant experience in areas such as stakeholder communication, Zendesk or email management, and cross team collaboration
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience maintaining accurate data and records preferred
  • Comfort working collaboratively across teams and supporting a variety of stakeholders

Compensation:The full compensation range for this role is $63,500-$74,700. Typically, new hires who fully meet all qualifications listed in the job description will start at $67,200. Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications, bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed. Compensation determinations consider relevant professional experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally, because we value internal growth and tenure, current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.

Work Environment:

This role is based at Uncommon Schools’ Home Office located at 100 Church St, New York, NY. Team members are expected to work in person at least 3 days per week. Minimal local travel may occasionally be required.
