Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking a Group Services Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support across the Business & Economics and Law faculties. This role plays an important part in supporting teaching and learning activities by ensuring academic administration processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Working as part of a collaborative professional services team, you will support academic staff, students, and colleagues across both faculties. This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and is interested in developing a career in tertiary teaching and learning administration within a large, complex organisation.

What you will do:

  • Provide reliable and accurate administrative support across teaching and learning activities for both faculties
  • Support key academic administration processes, including course information, examinations and final grade processes, and course evaluations
  • Assist with student and programme-related administration, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain records and information using University systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support faculty-level priorities across both faculties
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of academic administration processes and service delivery

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position.
The remuneration range for this position is $56,400 -  $71,000 depending on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You are a proactive and organised administrator who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality support. You are confident working with a range of stakeholders, adaptable in a busy environment, and keen to learn and grow within a tertiary setting.

You will bring:

  • NCEA Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience (essential)
  • 3-4 years’ experience in an administrative role within a large or complex organisation
  • Strong technological literacy, with advanced experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to use initiative to identify and solve problems, applying sound judgement and accurate interpretation of information
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work comfortably with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to quickly learn and apply new systems and processes

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A tertiary qualification
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems and/or database-driven software
  • Experience working in an educational or tertiary environment
