Job description
In collaboration with the Cargo and Licences Specialist, the incumbent plays a key role at the heart of operations. The position contributes to cargo performance optimization, regulatory compliance, and immigration file management, while ensuring smooth and efficient day‑to‑day operations.
Responsibilities
Cargo operations and safety
- Act as the operational point of contact between Air Transat and its cargo sales partner, as well as related suppliers, with the objective of optimizing revenues and controlling costs.
- Develop and maintain the available cargo capacity on flights in order to maximize additional revenue opportunities.
- Monitor, analyze and document operational and safety incidents related to cargo activities.
- Participate in the cargo audit program, support audit activities and collaborate with the Quality Assurance team on compliance and corrective actions.
- Produce and analyze performance and sales indicators related to cargo operations, and prepare reports for internal teams and partners.
- Manage the supply of cargo loading equipment (containers and pallets) in collaboration with the external partner, and verify related invoices for accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Maintain the Cargo Operations Manual and represent the cargo department during emergency and diversion exercises.
Immigration
- Process immigration and removal files and coordinate required arrangements with Canadian and international customs and government authorities.
- Draft, publish and keep up to date procedures related to entry requirements for all destinations served by the network.
- Provide operational and administrative support to the immigration consultant.
- Analyze and monitor expenses related to immigration files.
- Replace the Cargo and Licences Specialist during absences to ensure operational continuity and effective daily support.
- College diploma (DEC) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Three to five years of experience in the airline industry or in a regulated operational environment (transportation, logistics, operations).
- Experience in operational coordination, compliance, or the management of complex administrative files.
- Strong organizational skills, autonomy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and urgent matters effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Excellent command of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI (e.g., Copilot).
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of AIMS, Radixx, BDO, CargoVision and AGOA systems (asset).
- Oral and written fluency in French and English*
A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
