Required Attributes, Experience & Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering are desirable
Accredited NABERS assessor in Energy, Water Carbon neutral certification for Office and Shopping Centre
Demonstrated understanding of commercial building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocol.
Good communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage effectively with technical staff, property managers and clients.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Chat GPT
Accountabilities:
Conduct comprehensive building audits and assessments to evaluate NABERS energy and water ratings through site inspections, data collection, energy bill analysis, and building systems evaluation.
Calculate and assign NABERS ratings to buildings and tenancies based on the assessment results. This includes determining the energy or water consumption performance of the building in comparison to benchmarks or established rating criteria.
Ensure compliance with NABERS rating requirements, standards, and methodologies, as well as relevant state or territory regulations. Stay updated on changes in NABERS guidelines and contribute to continuous improvement in assessment processes.
Prepare assessment reports documenting methodology, findings, and NABERS ratings for building owners, property managers, and executive stakeholders. Translate technical results into actionable recommendations for energy efficiency improvements.
Conduct Building Energy Efficiency Certificates (BEEC).
Serve as a trusted sustainability advisor to clients by explaining NABERS rating implications, recommending improvement pathways, and supporting implementation of sustainable building practices. Conduct client education sessions as needed.
Monitor developments in sustainability practices, energy efficiency technologies, and relevant government policies. Share insights with internal teams and integrate emerging best practices into assessment methodologies.
Maintain accurate assessment scheduling database and collaborate with PM team to prioritise workload based on regulatory deadlines and client commitments.
Understanding the interaction between NABERS ratings, Green Star certification, and GRESB assessments. Advise clients on how NABERS performance impacts Green Star credit achievement and GRESB scoring.
Identify and communicate opportunities to expand JLL's sustainability services and capital upgrade capabilities based on assessment insights and client conversations. Coordinate with manager on pursuit strategy.
Key Result Areas:
Provide clear guidelines and reminders to all relevant teams and stakeholders regarding the NABERS ratings / BEEC due date well in advance.
Ensure that sufficient time is allocated for gathering all necessary data and completing the necessary assessments before the NABERS ratings due date.
Continuously evaluate and streamline internal processes to optimise efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and facilitate the timely submission of NABERS ratings.
