Job description

We’re looking for a Claims Team Manager to join our Group Protection Claims team offering a competitive salary of up to £52,000 depending on experience. You will lead a talented group of Claim Specialists to deliver excellent customer outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape team performance, influence service delivery and make a meaningful difference to customers at important moments in their lives.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Leading and managing a team of Claim Specialists to deliver a proactive and high-quality claims service
    • Aligning team objectives with departmental goals, service levels and performance targets
    • Monitoring performance using management information and responding to trends and changes
    • Recruiting, developing and supporting colleagues to build capability and maintain service excellence
    • Overseeing claims assessment and decision making, including authorising payments within agreed limits
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, intermediaries and stakeholders
    • Ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations and internal policies including data protection requirements
    • Driving continuous improvement by identifying themes, resolving issues and enhancing processes

    Who we're looking for:

    • Proven experience leading and developing teams in a service-driven environment
    • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships
    • Experience in claims, insurance or financial services is desirable
    • Good understanding of risk, governance and regulatory requirements
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
    • Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing business needs
    • Commitment to delivering fair customer outcomes and excellent service
    • Confidence to challenge, improve processes and support continuous improvement
