About Altruist

Altruist is transforming the multi-trillion dollar wealth management industry by building an AI platform for wealth professionals. We partner with financial advisors nationwide, empowering them to grow, optimize time and resources, and deliver superior outcomes for their clients.

We're looking for exceptional talent to help us achieve our mission of making financial advice better, more affordable, and accessible to all. If you're passionate about challenging the status quo and want to do the most important work of your life, we'd love to meet you!

But first, our values

Kindness - Kindness doesn’t just equal niceness. We listen to understand. We embrace, and encourage healthy debate and diverse perspectives. We approach conflict openly, honestly, and respectfully.

Brilliance - Humility is the skill we’re most proud of and possessing a growth mindset is always top of mind. We take ownership in everything we touch; regularly using our unique superpowers to reach a common goal as a team. We succeed and fail as one.

Grit - When challenges arise, we stay laser focused on achieving our mission and finding a way forward, even when it’s hard. We are nimble and maintain a sense of urgency, swiftly adapting to change and overcoming obstacles.

The opportunity

Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase, and we’re hiring a Solutions Engineer. In this role, you’ll be a key technical and workflow subject matter expert for RIAs who are evaluating, adopting, or expanding their use of Altruist. You’ll blend deep platform knowledge with consultative problem-solving to design and implement technology and operational solutions that make it easier for firms to migrate assets, scale efficiently, and deliver an exceptional client experience on Altruist. You’ll collaborate with Client Development, Onboarding, Product, Operations, and Relationship Management to:

  • Support high‑value RIA opportunities across the full sales cycle.
  • Map current‑state custodial and technology workflows and design target‑state architectures centered on Altruist, plus key third‑party tools.
  • Lead and support implementations, integrations, and advisor enablement so transitions are smooth, efficient, and well‑adopted.

This is an ideal role for someone who understands advisor operations in the real world, loves working directly with advisors and operations teams, and wants to grow into a senior solutions/enterprise role over time.

Your impact

Platform & ecosystem expertise

  • Develop deep, hands‑on expertise in the Altruist platform across account opening, trading and rebalancing, billing, reporting, digital onboarding, and client/advisor experience.
  • Build a strong understanding of how Altruist integrates with key third‑party systems (CRM, portfolio accounting, planning, analytics, digital onboarding, document management).
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of product releases, APIs, integrations, and best practices relevant to RIAs, and translate those into clear recommendations for how firms can operate more efficiently on Altruist.

RIA technology consulting & solution design

  • Partner with Client Development to conduct discovery sessions with RIA stakeholders (owners, COOs, operations leaders, advisors) to understand business models, client segments, service models, and operational pain points.
  • Assess current‑state technology stacks and process flows across custodial platforms, CRMs, portfolio accounting systems, planning tools, and digital client experiences; identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks relative to growth goals and client experience.
  • Design target‑state technology architectures that center Altruist as the core custodial and operating platform, alongside key third‑party systems (CRM, portfolio accounting, planning, analytics, digital onboarding, e‑signature).
  • Support the development of actionable technology and migration roadmaps, including quick wins, phased implementations, and change‑management plans tailored to each firm.

Sales engineering, demos, and pre‑sales support

  • Work alongside Client Development throughout the sales cycle — from early discovery through close — taking a consultative, solution‑oriented approach.
  • Deliver customized demos and presentations that speak directly to the realities of RIAs (e.g., ACAT workflows, trading/rebalancing, reporting, billing, digital onboarding, and advisor/client experiences) and show how Altruist improves them.
  • Answer technical and workflow questions related to platform capabilities, integrations, data flows, and day‑to‑day operations; bring in additional SMEs (Product, Data, Operations, Compliance) as needed.
  • Systematically capture advisor and operations feedback throughout the sales cycle and share it back with Product, Operations, and the Sr. Solutions Engineer, to influence roadmap, integrations, and playbooks.

Implementation, integration & transition support

  • Lead or support transition projects as firms onboard to Altruist from legacy custodians and platforms, in close partnership with Onboarding, Operations, and the Sr. Solutions Engineer.
  • Contribute to implementation activities such as requirements gathering, data mapping, workflow design, user acceptance testing, and rollout plans.
  • Document and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for critical workflows (account opening, transfers/ACATs, trading, billing, reporting, service requests) as they are implemented on Altruist.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (operations, compliance, product, data) to minimize disruption to advisors and end clients during conversions.

Advisor enablement & adoption

  • Deliver training sessions, workshops, and one‑on‑one coaching for advisor and operations teams on how to use Altruist effectively, with a focus on day‑to‑day workflows and best practices.
  • Create and maintain reference materials (playbooks, process maps, checklists, job aids) that help firms adopt new workflows and realize the full value of Altruist.
  • Measure and report on adoption, utilization, and efficiency gains for onboarded firms; recommend ongoing enhancements based on what you see in the field.

Cross‑functional partnership & continuous improvement

  • Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Relationship Management, Product, and Operations by translating advisor needs and real‑world operational constraints into clear technology and process requirements.
  • Provide input into product strategy and the integrations roadmap based on patterns you see across advisors using Altruist.
  • Contribute to the sales team’s goal of creating predictable, scalable growth by meeting SLAs, maintaining accurate and complete records in Salesforce, and proactively identifying ways to improve tools, processes, and collateral.
  • Travel as required during the pre‑ and post‑sales process (estimated ~10–25%, depending on client needs and territory).

What you’ll bring

  • Experience - 3+ years of experience in RIA/wealth management, custodial services, or advisor‑focused fintech, with direct exposure to advisor technology and operations.
    • Proven experience in technology consulting, implementation, sales engineering, or solutions consulting — ideally in an RIA, custodian, or advisor‑focused fintech environment.
    • Strong understanding of core RIA workflows: account opening, ACATs/transfers, trading and rebalancing, performance reporting, billing, and client digital experience.
  • Licensing - FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses or the ability to obtain them in 90 days.
  • Technical fluency — able to quickly learn and navigate complex platforms, data flows, and integrations, and explain them clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Familiarity with APIs, data integrations, and vendor ecosystems in the RIA space is a strong plus.
  • Consultative problem solving — comfortable structuring ambiguous advisor challenges, running discovery, and proposing clear, actionable solutions that balance client experience, risk, and scalability.
  • Project management — strong organization and follow‑through across multiple firms and initiatives; able to manage timelines, dependencies, and stakeholders from discovery through implementation.
  • Superb communication — intentional dialogue is a superpower. You listen deeply, synthesize clearly, and communicate complex concepts in straightforward, business‑oriented language.
  • Ownership and resilience — you take pride in your craft, follow through on commitments, and stay solution‑oriented when things get hard or ambiguous.
  • Collaboration — proven ability to work cross‑functionally with Sales, RM, Product, Operations, and Compliance, balancing different perspectives while keeping the advisor and end client at the center.
  • Bonus points:
    • Prior experience at a custodial platform, TAMP, or advisor‑focused fintech provider.
    • Experience designing or implementing integrated technology stacks, including CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Redtail, Wealthbox), portfolio accounting, planning software, and digital onboarding tools.
    • Relevant industry credentials (e.g., CFP®, CPA, CIMA®, PMP, or technology/operations designations).
