Category SQM Engineer

-Project core team member to represent SQM and participate in project kick-off / PACT workshop.

-Lead involvement of SQM and suppliers along with the project team from early project phase on with focus on critical components (support ESI = Early Supplier Involvement)

-Align sourcing planning with AP

-Drive assignment of SQM CI/CCI to each new component

-Lead and drive component introduction risk analysis and manage assure mitigation plan between SQM CI (supplier) and project Engineering team.

-Review and approval of Responsibility Matrix in case of customer directed supplier/component during quote phase.

-Guide (customer) requirements review for purchased components.

-Drive the team to identify critical and long lead time components and drive Maturity Evaluation.

-Initiate escalation and corrective actions in case of deviations, e.g.  the project schedule or component quality requirements can't be met.

-Track and document component introduction status and report to Project Team / PM

-Drive and support the team for the entire project milestones (PLC gates) on time

-Provide the answers to all SQM related gate review questions for every gate

-Responsible that all components are PSW released completely before G70                                                                                                                                 

-Drive BU internal coordination in case of supplier related quality alerts before SOP.

-Support BU-PUR, BU-Quality and SQM BU with customer meetings for SQM topics during component introduction phase

         - provide overview about component status

         - explain activities in case of quality alerts

• Support customer requested audits at Continental locations related to component status
• Drive execution of component management related tasks and support SQM (CI/SP) for new component introduction                                                                                                                        
• Support SQM supplier strategy for BU projects and early escalation to SQM BU  in case of supplier strategy is not kept by BU
• Plan with AP and SQM CI/CCI and track / support execution of Supplier Component Review (SCR).
• Drive feasibility of two or more suppliers, ok to source                                                                                                                        
• Regular update of Component Introduction Status via CTT.
• To feedback and report continuously APQP / PPAP status from SQM towards project team/ engineering.
• Provide regular report to BU SQM Manager.
• Feedback APQP/PPAP status to customer on demand.
• Report fulfilment status of target KPIs.                                                                                                                                      
• Implement and control the efficiency of the defined Component introduction process (procedures, guidelines and tools)
• Drive KPI management (ME on time, SCR/FC green, RED APQP reduction, R@R green, PSW right on time first time)
• In case of project related deviations of processes and or KPIs initiate corrective actions
• Give input to initiate supplier Improvement programs                                                                                                                       
• Implement Lessons Learned within BU and SQM  (related to component introduction, component design / specification, supplier selection, technology and mass production experience).                                                                                  
• Drive escalation management regarding SQM topics for BU specific cross-product family / customer cases as needed.                                                                                                                                  
• Urgent support oversea plant for problem solving of quality issues in Chinese suppliers on request
• Lead the componnet introduction activity of Chinese suppliers for overseas new project on request                                                                                                         

-Bachelor degree or above in Science and Engineering.                                                                                             

-At least 2 years of experience in different SQM / production / Customer Quality functions/ professional experience in quality function and/or in project management preferrably in automotive industry.

-Experience with plastic and rubber processes.

-Experience with Mechatronics, Electronics is preferred.                                                                                      

-Experience with supplier management, continuous improvement, quality assurance, industrial engineering, production, escalation management.                                                                                          

-Experience in working & coordination of international teams on quality and project issues.

-Understanding for different foreign cultures (NAFTA / Asia, several European cultures).
