Associate Analyst Accounting Operations

PURPOSE The Associate Analyst Accounting Operations is responsible for delivering efficient and effective end-to-end accounting services for the area of responsibility in line with the Service Level Agreement. He/she ensures the overall integrity of the sub-ledgers for the area of responsibility in compliance with departmental and accounting policies and procedures. The role resolves all ensuing issues in a timely manner. nThe role maybe responsible for some administrative tasks relating to areas beyond finance which require management as they impact the finance function KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Process information: Ensure all data is handled completely and accurately, meeting agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Reconcile ledger: Perform reconciliations and provide supporting information for the ledger within your area of responsibility. Resolve queries: Address queries by liaising with relevant internal or external contacts, escalating to the line manager when necessary. Run control statements: Execute control statements and deliver reports to line management as required. Support audits: Supply accurate and complete information for internal and external audits as directed by line management. Adhere to controls: Follow internal control guidelines and Business Process Blueprints consistently. Implement improvements: Contribute to departmental projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Qualifications EXPERIENCE - At least 3 years work experience in an accounting environment preferably within a medium size company; KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Analytical capabilities: Strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making. Multi-tasking under pressure: Effectively manage multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality. Judgement and integrity: Apply discretion and professional integrity in handling sensitive information and making decisions. Communication skills: Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clarity and collaboration. Language proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages are considered an asset. Process application: Consistently apply established processes and procedures within the area of responsibility. Accounting knowledge: Solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles to support financial accuracy. PC proficiency: Skilled in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting, analysis, and presentations. Financial systems knowledge: Familiarity with Oracle SUN (or equivalent financial systems) and Hyperion reporting systems is desirable.
