Job description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Time Manager to lead payroll operations across the Nordic-Baltic zone (7 countries) within a shared services model. This role is responsible for ensuring compliant, accurate, and efficient payroll & time delivery while driving strategic payroll &time transformation, process standardization, and digital integration in close collaboration with HR, Finance, Digital/IT, and business. Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations: Lead end-to-end payroll delivery across 7 Nordic–Baltic countries (in-house and managed services) Ensure compliance with local legislation, collective agreements, tax, and statutory requirements Handle complex cases, audits, escalations, and ensure strong controls and data quality People Management: Lead, coach, and develop a multi-country payroll team Set objectives, manage performance, and build a high-performing team culture Strategic Leadership & Transformation: Define payroll & time strategy aligned with HR and business objectives Drive automation, harmonization, and continuous improvement initiatives Lead payroll/time projects such as system upgrades and vendor transitions Digital Collaboration & Standardization: Partner with Digital/IT to ensure effective integrations across HRIS, Payroll, Finance, and T&A Drive standardized, scalable, and compliant payroll/time processes supported by reliable systems Time & Attendance Management: Own the payroll-related Time & Attendance framework across the Nordic–Baltic zone Ensure alignment between T&A processes, systems, and payroll requirements Improve data quality, automation, and exception handling Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted partner to HR, Finance, Digital/IT, and the business Manage external vendors, authorities, and service providers Proactively communicate risks, changes, and improvement opportunities Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum 2+ years of hands-on payroll experience in at least 1 Nordic country 3+ years of people management experience Experience managing payroll in a shared services model Proven project management and transformation experience Strong strategic thinking and execution capability Solid experience with Nordic (and preferably Baltic) payroll and Time & Attendance environments Key Skills & Competencies Strategic and operational leadership mindset Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills Process standardization and continuous improvement focus Strong digital and systems orientation Excellent communication skills in English (Nordic languages an advantage) What We Offer At Schneider Electric, we are committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive work culture where every employee is empowered to thrive.
