Test Process Engineer

Location: Alhambra, CA (Onsite)

Job Summary:  

The Test Process Engineer will be able to implement and monitor wafer fabrication backend production processes in a manufacturing environment. His duty includes but not limited to daily update of wafer fabrication backend WIP on the production line and being able to analyze and manage day-to-day production issues and problems. The Test Process Engineer position will be based at Semtech Photonics Products group located in Alhambra, CA.

The following is a list of current essential job responsibilities of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of wafer backend production process WIP, analyze test yields, and continuous improvement of manufacturing process efficiency.
• Collaborate with Device Design Engineers and Quality Assurance teams to streamline the process steps and requirements to improve production efficiency.
• Work closely with engineers, operators, and Quality teams to prepare and improve existing wafer qualification plans to meet ISO-9000 standard.
• Understand the manufacturing test result failures, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and correction on the production environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
• Minimum 10 years of relevant semiconductor laser wafer production experience
• Advanced knowledge of wafer fabrication methodologies, systems, parametric testing, and yield analysis
• Experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication and product test environment preferred
• Proficient in at least one statistical analysis (JMP, Minitab, or MATLAB)
• Knowledgeable on manufacturing test failures, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and correction on production processes a must
• Must have extensive experience in semiconductor lasers and photodiodes manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated organizational skills, knowledge of wafer fabrication processes and technologies, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Proficient with fiberoptics test instruments such as semiconductor laser controllers, optical power meters, and optical spectrum analyzers
• Preferred:
  • JMP or Minitab Statistical analysis
  • SolidWorks, MATLAB
  • Microsoft Office

• May need to travel for OSAT

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000.  There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
