Job Description:
Responsible for providing direct trauma-informed clinical services to students as dictated by Individualized Education Plans. Formulates effective safety plans/assessments, and conducts individual, and/or group counseling and case management services in a private approved Section 766 Day School. Must provide support services for youth with social emotional and specific learning disabilities in a school based setting. Must be able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and model appropriate clinical interventions. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Interviews youth and families, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate the mental health and behavioral needs of the youth as well as appropriateness of placement in the educational setting.
2. Obtains and documents, in a precise and timely manner, all relevant intake documentation, assessments and behavior plans.
3. Develop social/emotional IEP goals, benchmarks and current progress levels and generate quarterly progress reports and annual assessments.
4. Formulates a strengths-based safety plan in collaboration with the student; and monitors effectiveness and makes modifications/updates as needed.
5. Provides and assists with the clinical training for staff and students.
6. Counsels students individually and in group sessions, as required and indicated, to achieve educational attainment and assist in meeting social/emotional goals in a timely manner as developed.
7. Routinely audits student educational charts.
8. Prepares and maintains reports and assessments in accordance with organization guidelines for format, timeliness, and quality assurance.
9. Attends staff meetings, supervisory sessions and all training as required.
10. Represents the Solstice School Clinical Team in meetings with community collaterals and Educational teams to ensure that clinical/social/emotional needs are reflected and addressed.
11. As appropriate, participates in leadership and other meetings as requested.
12. All other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience working with youth with behavioral health and/or substance abuse challenges.
Must demonstrate ability to relate and desire work with a diverse adolescent population in a sensitive manner, an interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting and must share a customer service orientation.
Manages difficult or emotional situations; responds promptly to youth needs.
Computer literate in standard desktop applications such as Windows, Word, and Excel. Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.
Pay Range:
$69,284.80 USD - $84,593.60 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
