Job Description:
The Special Asset Group (SAG) manages the Bank’s high risk/criticized or distressed commercial loan portfolio. The Credit Analyst III supports the SAG Portfolio Officers in the management of their credits. This includes structuring and underwriting of credit facilities, providing financial and collateral analysis, drafting credit approvals, asset quality forecasting, monitoring covenant compliance and completion of regulatory requirements. Credit Risk Officer may eventually manage a SAG portfolio of less complex relationships.
- Perform financial and credit analysis, risk rating analysis ensuring adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures for an assigned portfolio.
- Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client’s credit life cycle.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the product spectrum and portfolio at the client, industry, and macro level to assess risk and craft value added solutions balancing risk.
- Participate in client meetings and strategy sessions.
- Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with business partners.
- Participate in strategic projects to support business goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of commercial workout or commercial underwriting related experience
- Experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management
- Strong communication skills; ability to communicate vertically, horizontally, and externally
Desired Qualifications:
- Fluency with use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; including ability to prepare and/or review company specific financial models in Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and relationship building skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of internal partners and leadership to gather/convey relevant information.
- Strong understanding of commercial banking laws, rules and regulations including internal Bank policies/standards.
