Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

Major functions include monitoring and attending activities related to swimming pool operations, specifically ensuring the safety of all patrons by enforcing posted rules and regulations. Maintain constant, vigilant surveillance of the water to identify swimmers in distress, while proactively warning swimmers of dangerous behavior or hazardous conditions.  In the event of an incident administer first aid, CPR and AED as necessary until emergency personnel arrive. Monitor PH and Cl (chlorine) level in accordance with Department of the Air Force Manual 48-143. Teach youth swim lessons from approximately middle of June to end of July for children of active-duty military.  Strong customer service skills with a team-oriented attitude required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and attend the swimming pool facilities and activities.  Monitor Ph and chlorine levels in accordance with DAFMAN 48-143.  Take appropriate actions if PH/chlorine levels are not within acceptable limits. Test and record chlorine and pH at all four corners of the pool every two hours; close pool if any are out of acceptable ranges
  • Maintain visibility to provide customer service, i.e. take care of the customer’s needs, maintain accountability for Government Furnished Property, monitor the facility area when in use, ensure the trash is in proper receptacles, ensure safety is adhered to by the pool patrons, identify and correct any unsafe activities by pool customers.
  • Correct or have corrected all safety deficiencies, remove all broken or unsafe equipment from the area, recommend to management new equipment or replacement equipment purchases, insure the facility is cleaned properly, monitor both pool and children’s wading pool for cleanliness and identify and report any substandard conditions, submit work orders and job orders to repair facility equipment, follow-up on all work requests, inspect  all equipment daily, adhere to all USAF and Company policies and plans, and other duties as directed by the Fitness Center Director.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current Internationally/nationally recognized water rescue qualifications/certifications and Adult and Child CPR and AED training mandatory.
  • Current internationally/nationally recognized, Swim Instructor Certification mandatory

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years’ lifeguard experience is highly desirable
  • Maintain patience and the ability to work well with children in a teaching environment
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to work well within a team
  • Possess English language proficiency skills at the B2-C1 Level
  • Possess a Spanish Class B driver’s license and a vehicle for transport to job site
