Job description

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach-and-Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand. 

The training programme is a 15 months of structured on-the-job training with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

Trainee to be involved in:

  • Maintain and monitor Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems to ensure constant and reliable support to the plant at all times so as to minimize disruption to the production process.

  • Carry out implementation activities for plant modifications and other identified plant improvement projects in line with defined specifications, and qualification of facilities in accordance with site to approved procedures.

  • Lead and troubleshoot issues arise and provide continuous improvements to processes and DCS/PLC systems.

  • Support for planning and implementing plant maintenance, managing of engineering resources during plant turnaround and prompt resolution of breakdowns, including engaging external assistance.

  • Maintain high GMP standard meeting the regulatory expectations such that the site is always inspection ready.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance measures (including safety) within their specific discipline to ensure inspection readiness of plant, as well as participate as an audit team member in the conduct of audits.

  • To support the development of facility master plan to ensure compliance to engineering standards, management of obsolescence and asset replacement.

  • Support the Engineering Team to implement GSK Engineering Standards and drive action closure for Engineering Alert etc.

  • Support and engagement with other GSK sites and wider industry partners to seek and share best practices.

  • Provide site inputs to the development of Engineering Standards (ES) and Engineering Policy (EP).

  • To support customer complaints and deviation investigations and ensure that all relevant engineering corrective actions are completed within the agreed timeline.

  • To support Engineering Technical Report and provide input to Periodic Reviews and Annual Validation Report to ensure timely completion of the report; including routine support.

Education / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the relevant engineering discipline, preferably in Controls and Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronics, and Chemical Engineering

  • Knowledge and Interest in programming / DCS (Python, Delta V, Batch)

Competencies / Skills:

  • Good understanding of local codes and requirements

  • Effective communication & Operational Excellence skills

  • Ability to use Power point / Excel / Power BI

  • Good understanding of local codes and requirements

  • Effective root cause analysis
