Senior Procurement Manager - Functional Ingredients Global

Scope: Full time

Reports to: Head of Global Procurement – Ingredients and other Raw Materials

Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Job Purpose

Main job purpose: Professional sourcing of products meeting the specified needs of the business at the most competitive commercial terms and according to sustainable standards.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Global Executive Procurement of Ice Cream Functional Ingredients & Flavours (including Hydrocolloids, Emulsifiers, Sweeteners, Natural Colorants and Flavour systems).

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for each portfolio; assess, identify and select the appropriate supplier base that meets business needs.

• Structure and manage key partnerships with global suppliers to deliver against value, purpose and future‑fit goals.

• Support collaboration between global suppliers and procurement teams to establish both short‑ and long‑term business objectives; ensure best‑practice sharing across regions.

• Lead negotiations to deliver savings, cash and working capital targets, applying strong market understanding, strategy implementation, negotiation excellence and Price Risk Management (PRM) principles where relevant.

• Manage contracts ensuring high quality and service levels to sourcing units; ensure compliance with Responsible Sourcing Policies and relevant standards.

• Support innovation projects through strong collaboration with R&D teams and suppliers, providing market intelligence, supplier capabilities, and capacity insights to unlock growth competitive advantage in the market

• Work closely with Finance to support accurate price forecasting and budgeting through market trend monitoring and forward‑looking insights.

• Work with Ice Cream R&D teams to drive initiatives on supplier approvals, reformulations, resilience programs and cost efficiency.

• Initiate and drive complexity reduction (e.g., harmonization of specifications, suppliers and formulations).

• Support and manage supply chain issues (e.g., crisis management) and supplier risk management.

• Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers; continuously improve ways of working and optimize procurement activities.

• Lead strategic initiatives across Ice Cream Procurement based on the Procurement Ignition 2028 Strategy, including (but not limited to) Value Chain Analysis, Risk Management and Joint Buying.

• Lead cross‑functional initiatives and represent the company’s interests in the management of external strategic relationships.

• In the context of Partnership, identify, develop and manage strategic business relationships to enable growth, revenue achievement and new product development initiatives.

• Develop, coach and mentor resources within a high performing and motivated team responsible for interfacing with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Experiences & Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.

• At least 10 years of relevant Procurement experience (Consumer Goods / IC & Food & Beverage / Commodities preferred).

• Experience in R&D collaboration and/or technical understanding is a plus.

• Experience on large‑scale change management projects.

• Fluent in English.
