Job description

  • 2 x Full-time, Ongoing Positions.
  • Campbelltown & Parramatta South campuses available with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: Academic Level C $150,081 – $172,392 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.


Shape nursing and midwifery teaching and research through course leadership and scholarly impact.

The Opportunity
You will take a leading role in teaching, scholarship and academic service within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Two full-time, ongoing roles are available, with one position based at Campbelltown Campus and one position based at Parramatta South Campus. You will contribute to course development and delivery across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, while supporting student progression and employability outcomes in line with University policy.

You will design and deliver high-quality learning activities and resources, using appropriate assessment and feedback approaches across contemporary learning environments. You will provide academic support to students through individual consultations and cohort guidance, and you will contribute to course administration and academic quality assurance, including responsibilities as Course Authority. You will maintain professional development in pedagogy and disciplinary knowledge, including any relevant accreditation requirements, and contribute to School and Faculty committees and forums.

You will also build a strong program of research and scholarship consistent with disciplinary practice. You will produce research outputs and scholarly impact recognised by peers, develop and design research projects, and contribute to competitive funding applications under the guidance of senior colleagues. You will mentor and guide students and colleagues, including supervision of Higher Degree by Research candidates, and engage with the profession and industry to strengthen external partnerships and advance learning, teaching and research outcomes.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, assessment and student support across programs.
  • Design and improve curriculum, learning activities and assessment using effective methods.
  • Provide effective course leadership and academic quality assurance as Course Authority.
  • Produce recognised research outputs and scholarly impact aligned to disciplinary practice.
  • Contribute to funding applications and supervise HDR candidates to build research capacity.

About You

  • You hold a PhD in Nursing (or a closely related discipline), along with current registration as a Nurse in Australia, or eligibility to obtain registration.
  • You have a strong track record of producing high-quality, impactful research, relative to opportunity and the potential to step into research leadership.
  • You bring experience contributing to teaching and learning, including designing and delivering engaging courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • You demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds, helping them succeed, and contributing to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • You have the ability to work collaboratively, build meaningful relationships, and connect effectively with the profession and broader industry.

Working with Children Check:
It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
