OVERVIEW
The Senior Producer, Originals (Asia & Middle East) will support CNBC’s original video output across Asia and the Middle East on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Working closely with the Head of International Originals, this role will oversee the day-to-day development and delivery of digital video content across franchises including CNBC Explains and Founder Effect, managing a small team of producers and a camera operator/editor based in Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
The role is focused on execution, with responsibility for shaping story ideas, reviewing scripts and edits, maintaining editorial standards, and ensuring content is delivered to a high standard across platforms. This is an ideal role for a strong editorial producer with people management experience, excellent judgment, and the ability to improve work quickly and calmly in a fast-moving environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the day-to-day production of original video content across Asia and the Middle East, with a focus on CNBC Explains and Founder Effect.
Manage two producers and a camera operator/editor, helping to prioritize workload, unblock issues, and maintain high standards.
Work closely with producers to develop timely, relevant story ideas with strong audience appeal.
Review, fact-check and refine scripts and edits, ensuring factual accuracy, clarity and editorial impact before final approval from the Head of International Originals.
Act as a key layer of editorial quality control across the regional slate, helping to reduce bottlenecks and keep delivery on track.
Support production planning and workflow management across multiple projects and deadlines.
Collaborate with colleagues in London, Singapore and Abu Dhabi to maintain consistency across global franchises.
Work closely with digital colleagues on supporting articles and editorial rollout, and with television teams to develop short packages and support weekend programming.
Step in to support scripting, shoots or production problem-solving where needed.
Ensure all content is compliant, editorially sound, and delivered on time.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Significant experience in video production, ideally in business, news or factual formats.
Strong experience producing digital video content, particularly mid-form and long-form formats for digital and streaming platforms.
Demonstrated ability to review and improve scripts and edits to a high editorial standard.
Strong editorial judgment, with excellent attention to detail and fact-checking skills.
Ability to turn complex business and economic stories into clear, engaging visual narratives Experience managing or mentoring team members.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
Calm, collaborative approach and confidence working across teams in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of digital video platforms and audience engagement principles Knowledge of field production and post-production workflows.
Willingness to support shoots or hands-on production where needed.
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere or equivalent editing tools.
Strong interest in global business, economics and current affairs.
