Job description
1) GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Expected to provide and assist audiological services on all patients of all ages. Will also require fitting hearing aids and participate in all routine duties within the Services.
2) JOB DESCRIPTION
Organization and Management
To assist audiologist in the clinic as and when required.
To perform all audiology assessment.
To perform newborn hearing screening and to compile the hearing screening statistics and record in Record Book.
To conduct objective and subjective tests including key-in patient’s details, get prescription from medical officer.
To do daily checking on audiology equipment and to clean it after each session.
To make sure Audiology Services is in good order and well organized.
To switch on / off equipment in the clinic every morning / end of day and report to the Audiologist in-charge if machines are not working.
To perform clerical duties e.g.: maintain patient records, key-in statistics, assist with stock levels and compiling reports, send letters and parcel and to make sure purchase order is ready after item being purchased.
To assist in the planning and implementing projects undertaken by the Services e.g. Talks, Forum, prepares pamphlets, brochures etc.
To attend meetings and sit on committees as and when required.
Involvement with the maintenance and calibration of technical equipment under supervision of Audiologist In-Charge.
To attend internal and external training as recommend by the Services and hospital.
To participate in the development of professional and technical standards.
To perform any other duties and responsibilities as required by the Head of Services.

Takes personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with professional change and growth by maintaining mandatory learning hours.
Policies and Procedures
Adheres to the hospital policies, procedure, guidelines and work instructions.
Facilities and Equipment
Ensures that all equipment in the unit are operating according to procedure.
Provides assistance/ guidance to new staff in using equipment.
Ensures that all equipment are functioning well and service according to PPM schedule.
Reports to Engineering personnel if any faulty and takes necessary action accordingly.
Ensures maintenance of equipment by proper cleaning, handling and utilization as directed.

Ensure compliance of Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety.
Policies on patient and family rights are addressed at all times.
Participates actively and encourages compliance to all policies and Procedures of ISO9001:2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, HACCP Netherlands, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards, Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards, PSG and NNA
3) JOB REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s degree Of Audiology.
At least 5 years’ working experience in hospital setting.
Expert in handling machine or equipment of audiology.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
Computer literate.
Able to apply evidence of best practices to clinical decision-making.
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn is most important.
