Job Description – Drainage / Hydrology Engineer Position
- Postgraduate in Hydrology / Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) with 0-2 years of proven experience delivering end-to-end drainage design solutions across urban, industrial, highway, airport, seaport, and railway projects.
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan, model, and optimize stormwater systems, from catchment analysis and concept stage through to detailed design and GFC deliverables.
- Strong command of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tools (SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SewerCAD/StormCAD, Civil 3D, QGIS, TUFLOW, MIKE, HY-8), applied to solve complex drainage challenges.
- Proven expertise in rainfall–runoff estimation and flood modelling using standard methods (SCS, CWC UGH, Rational Method), with clear and defensible design assumptions.
- Ability to deliver code-compliant designs (CWC, Indian, and international standards) for culverts, bridges, river training works, flood protection systems, and rainwater harvesting and reuse networks.
- Track record of producing high-quality, coordinated GFC drawings (plans, L-sections, cross-sections, GA details) with strict adherence to QA/QC standards.
- Strong experience in technical reporting, BOQs, cost estimation, and tender documentation, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Capable of reviewing and challenging client/contractor submissions, resolving design conflicts, and driving timely approvals with complete and coordinated deliverables.
- Ensure minimal design-related changes during construction through robust first-pass design, proactive risk identification, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Lead and mentor teams to achieve on-time, high-quality delivery under demanding project schedules.
- Effective communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Practical exposure to site conditions and execution, ensuring designs are realistic and implementable.
- Experience in international/overseas projects, code knowledge is an added advantage.
Postgraduate in Hydrology / Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
**Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
