Provides respiratory care to patients, including aerosolized medication, oxygen therapy, and ventilation. Draws, analyzes, and reports blood gas results. Responds to rapid response and code blue situations, performing CPR as needed. Manages ventilators, both invasive and non-invasive, and documents changes. Assists with bedside bronchoscopy and manages non-invasive Bi-level and end-tidal CO2 capnography. Performs respiratory therapy treatments and procedures per physician orders and department protocols. Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, providing input on patient care to impact length of stay and re-admission rates. Assists with clinical instruction, precepts, and serves as a resource for lower-level therapists. Reviews workload, makes staff assignments, and ensures completion of tasks when acting as shift lead. Follows regulatory requirements for the blood gas lab, including quality control and analyzer maintenance. Identifies and implements cost-control methods while maintaining patient care quality. Completes and documents ECGs and ensures all errors and inefficiencies are reported to management. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Technical/Vocational School [Required]
Field of Study:
in respiratory therapy program prior to obtaining license or grandfathered in prior to licensure
Work Experience:
1+ years critical care experience [Required]
3+ years Respiratory Care experience [Required]

Pay Range:
