Chamberlain University is seeking dedicated Nursing Faculty to deliver high‑quality nursing education across classroom, online, lab, simulation, and clinical environments, including flexible evening and weekend courses. This role plays a critical part in advancing student success through teaching excellence, mentoring, service, and scholarly engagement—all aligned with Chamberlain’s mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
- Teach assigned nursing courses across instructional modalities (classroom, online, clinical, lab, and simulation) using evidence‑based teaching practices and instructional technology.
- Create engaging, student‑centered learning experiences that connect theory to practice.
- Provide input to, implement, and continuously improve course curriculum and instructional materials.
- Lead or support clinical, lab, and simulation experiences to ensure students are practice‑ready and demonstrate safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice.
Student Support & Evaluation
- Keep students first by building meaningful relationships, understanding individual learning needs, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and implement remediation strategies as needed.
- Ensure grading and feedback are accurate, constructive, rubric‑aligned, and delivered in a timely manner.
- Enforce academic and student‑related policies (exams, attendance, late assignments, etc.) and stay current on policy updates.
Mentorship, Service & Collaboration
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students and new faculty.
- Contribute to the Chamberlain community through professional service, including committee participation, graduation, and program evaluation.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support student success and contribute to high‑performing, collaborative teams in a matrixed environment.
Scholarship, Professional Development & Compliance
- Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and nursing practice, including researching, applying, and disseminating new knowledge.
- Maintain subject matter expertise and teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development.
- Ensure all work complies with licensure, accreditation, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Education
- Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the teaching discipline (Required)
- PhD in a field appropriate to the teaching discipline (Preferred)
- Education and experience must align with applicable state regulatory requirements for assigned courses and specialties.
Professional & Teaching Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a discipline related to assigned teaching responsibilities (Required)
- Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses across classroom, online, lab, simulation, and/or clinical environments.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging learning environments and effectively manage conflict when needed.
Licensure, Certification & Compliance
- Maintain current, active, unencumbered licensure or certification required to practice professionally in the discipline (Required).
- Maintain appropriate regulatory and practice credentials based on teaching assignment.

Teaching, Technology & Innovation
- Strong technological proficiency using learning management systems, simulation technology, and online teaching platforms.
- Ability to effectively leverage technology, data, and emerging AI tools to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and high personal initiative.
Student Engagement, Collaboration & Inclusion
- High emotional and social intelligence with a demonstrated ability to recognize student needs, respond with empathy, and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty colleagues, the Extended Service Team, and clinical partners.
- Commitment to student‑centered teaching and fostering positive learning relationships.
Scholarship & Professional Development
- Demonstrated scholarship congruent with faculty rank, meeting the following criteria:
- Scholarship is made public
- Scholarship is open to critical peer review
- Scholarship is accessible for exchange and use by others
- Instructor Faculty must demonstrate at least one example of scholarship within one of the following focus areas (per Faculty Handbook guidelines):
- Scholarship of Discovery
- Scholarship of Integration
- Scholarship of Practice/Application
- Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in teaching and nursing practice.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $110,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
