Ready
Program Manager, Customer Implementation
Salary
Job description
We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Program Manager to join Ready's P3 team as an individual contributor. In this role, you will directly manage customer implementations on a client-by-client basis—ensuring complex, multi-stakeholder projects move from mandate to execution with clarity, momentum, and high quality. You will partner closely with embedded engineers and product teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements, while serving as a trusted partner to government stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong program management discipline, technical fluency, and a growth mindset—using modern tools, including AI, to streamline workflows, surface insights, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
About your role at Ready ⚡️
- Manage end-to-end implementations for your assigned customers, driving structured cadences, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring projects stay on track, within scope, and aligned with program requirements.
- Partner closely with product and engineering to gather requirements, scope work, write clear requirements and acceptance criteria, and shepherd issues through the development lifecycle.
- Represent customer needs to cross-functional teams—including engineering, product, design, and policy—ensuring alignment between program realities and platform direction, and contributing to prioritization tradeoffs.
- Guide state and local partners through program onboarding and execution, translating policy and grant requirements into clear, actionable workflows.
- Use modern PM tooling (Linear, Notion, Slack) and AI-driven workflows to manage project health, document decisions, and create transparency across stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with agency staff and decision-makers, enabling Ready to deepen value over time and expand into adjacent program areas.
- Stay current on federal and state policy developments relevant to your customers, distilling insights into practical guidance.
- Contribute to team processes, shared learning, and best practices, offering insight and expertise without managing direct reports.
- Occasionally represent Ready externally at convenings, workshops, and strategic meetings with public-sector partners.
A bit about you 🥇
- Proven success in program or project management roles managing complex, multi-stakeholder implementations, ideally in fast-paced or high-growth environments.
- Experience gathering requirements and partnering with engineering teams to ship software, data, or technical products—comfortable writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and working through scoping tradeoffs.
- Technically fluent—able to adopt new tools quickly and use them to improve efficiency and insight, with hands-on experience in modern PM and collaboration platforms (Linear, Notion, Slack, AI platforms like Claude or ChatGPT).
- Deep familiarity with how federal funding and compliance requirements flow through state and local government; experience in broadband, infrastructure, or related programs is a plus.
- Experience implementing technical or data-driven solutions with or within government (GovTech, civic tech, federal grant programs, etc.).
- Ability to quickly understand and interpret policy frameworks and translate them into actionable guidance.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills—comfortable operating across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with an instinct for anticipating risks and opportunities.
- A proactive self-starter who thrives with ownership and autonomy, while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (technology, business, public policy, communications, or similar); master's degree a plus.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies or certifications (PMP, Agile, Scrum) is a plus.
