What you’ll do…
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a large, dynamic kitchen team
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations.
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff during service.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented to company standards.
- Support menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal changes.
- Monitor portion control and minimise food waste.
- Manage stock rotation, ordering, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
- Step into the Head Chef role during absence or holidays.
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with rota planning and labour cost control within contracted hours.
- Support with driving innovation and create a culture of menu development whilst still delivering on the framework of a Hoxton Restaurant menu allowing the amazing produce to speak for itself
- Both guest and team experience will be at the heart of all you do. You’ll lead your team by example, keeping them involved and motivated; helping them feel empowered and supported, confident in providing top Hox experiences for our guests and comfortable turning to you with questions.
What we are looking for…
- 2+ years’ experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority
- Proven track record supporting the managing large kitchen teams
- Experience in M&E (meetings and events) or banqueting is beneficial
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards in the UK.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience in stock control and kitchen administration.
- Relevant food hygiene qualifications preferred (Level 2 or 3 Food Safety).
- A true passion for creativity whilst maintaining the integrity of our brand standards through the dishes on the menu
