Kearney is currently seeking an Auditing Associate to join our team. The Audit Associate position will be responsible for performing procedures such as audit testing, data analysis, and assisting with preparation of deliverables as assigned under the supervision of their Manager. This position is located in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities are below: • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment • Execute the day-to-day audit activities of the engagement • Request and analyze audit related data • Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government audit and financial management requirements • Assist in drafting and preparing project deliverables • Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and results-oriented • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations • Demonstrate professionalism and competence in a client environment • Performing substantive audit testing of financial transactions • Review and evaluate internal controls and related supporting documentation • Contribute to the development of findings and recommendations • Document the results of audit procedures performed in accordance with professional standards and firm quality control requirements Qualifications Required Qualifications: • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university with a major in Accounting or related field • Minimum up to 1 years of Accounting and/or Auditing experience • Must have an active interim Secret clearance • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: • CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certification Overview Exclusively focused on the Government, Kearney & Company provides financial services, including auditing, consulting, and technology services. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
