Job Overview Fairview is looking for a System Manager, Education. Location home base is West Bank Park Plaza Buildling, but this is a mobile role & must travel to other Fairview locations regularly. Schedule: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, working primarily Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays. Typical business hours plus occasional classes that go into the evenings. Flexibilty required. Responsibilities: The System Manager Education provides leadership, oversight, and operational management for education programs within the Practice & Education department and across the system. This includes responsibility for covering program instructors, class content, and learning methodologies. This role directs the assessment, planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of program objectives and learning initiatives. Serves as the key collaborator for education & communication practices to hospitals, domains, service lines, and clinical areas. Partners with nursing leadership, nursing practice & education, nursing clinical informatics, regulatory, quality, patient safety, employee occupational health, others to meet overall organizational practice changes, strategies, and gaps related to education programs for the system. On occasion, may instruct system classes based on departmental needs. Leadership: Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Education Program, including both instructors and administrative staff. Responsibilities encompass hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and ensuring ongoing instructor competency. Provides strategic leadership and oversees daily operations for team, ensuring alignment with organizational vision, mission, and goals while managing team members productivity, workflows, quality, timeliness, and instructor scheduling Collaborates with Nursing Leadership, Nursing Practice and Education, Security, Employee Health, Regulatory, Quality, and Patient Safety teams to advance organizational goals and strategies focused on workplace violence prevention, reduction, and patient safety improvement. Represents the education programs and their objectives in domains, service lines, clinical groupings, and across the system. Creates an environment that encourages individual accountability for continual professional development and learning. Ensures comprehensive training on system educational programs so staff possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSAs) required for their roles, and actively champions these KSAs across all clinical areas. Supports training for new instructors by providing guidance on course content, instructional design principles, proper use of courseware, and essential trainer competencies. Reinforces the organization’s commitment to create a workplace that is safe from verbal and physical harm, as well as the core values of respect for people and continuous improvement. Evidence-based Practice: Leads and supports the implementation and ongoing sustainment of initiatives of education programs across assigned areas, developing content and activities in collaboration with operational leaders to ensure long-term success. Responsible for ongoing evaluation of Instructional programs, integrating evidence-based research into the curriculum to enhance patient and staff safety (in partnership with Nursing Practice & Education), while staying current on best practices in clinician education and employing diverse, learner-centered teaching methodologies aligned with adult learning principles. Models the behaviors associated with a healthy work environment. Financial Stewardship: Effectively manages annual department budget Identifies the need for human, material and capital resources for areas of responsibility while maintaining the department budget Routinely builds business case for initiatives, programmatic changes, or capital budget needs. Required Qualifications: B.S./B.A. in Education, Learning or Healthcare related field 2 years Teaching experience working with learners in a classroom 2 years Clinical patient care experience 1 year Supervisory experience 1 year Current employee of Fairview Within six months of employment in the position, must obtain the certification that correlates with the course(s) that are managed.
