Overview TRC is seeking a motivated and resourceful Project Associate to actively contribute to successful clean energy projects. This position will take on a proactive role in assessing and resolving project issues, ensuring compliance with project procedures, and fostering collaboration among internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safety-oriented culture. This role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, facilitate project logistics, and build effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth project operations and successful outcomes. Project Associates support our clients’ commercial and residential energy efficiency programs. You perform a variety of processing activities in support of energy consultants, installation partners and customers on energy efficiency projects. You support project creation, verify documents, and perform accurate and timely reviews of projects and payment of project rebates. You will answer incoming calls and emails, and make outbound calls to customers to accommodate their incentive applications. You operate across several software dashboards to update project files daily, based on information from contractors and customers. You validate contractor/customer reports to ensure accountability and project timelines. You must be able to work within a multi-faceted environment to meet both project and program goals and objectives. Your ability to accurately assess various types of submittals ensures that applications progress according to standards and specifications. Responsibilities Along with our team of project managers and technical experts, the successful applicant will play a key role in implementing energy efficiency programs. Duties may include: Actively support multiple projects/applications throughout their lifecycle by assessing and resolving project issues to confirm timely progress, milestone tracking, and successful completion. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate project submittals, coordinate logistics, and verify compliance with project procedures and contract requirements. Adhere to safety protocols, promote a safety-oriented culture across all projects, and provide support for incident investigations as required. Tracking program participation status Perform data entry, review and processing of incentive applications including research/resolution of problem applications, and outreach to the customer for required information, as needed. Promptly and accurately process project documents by utilizing tools to review, provide insight, track data, generate reports, and monitor performance. Managing program documentation and maintaining CRM database Coordinating and supporting team meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, et Providing project tracking, reporting, and invoicing support, tracking program participation status, and other administrative duties Qualifications Eligibility to work in the United States. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or relevant field, and 1 + years of experience. A combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and internet searches. Ability to work with Excel workbooks and to create and upload documents and files. Academic and / or professional experience displaying a strong interest in sustainability, green building or energy efficiency is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor and top-notch customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work independently as well as effectively within a team environment. Flexible, attentive and responsive to changing operational procedures and customer needs. Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work with culturally diverse customers and contractors effectively and respectfully.
