Job description

NETZSCH Premier Technologies, LLC is looking for a Field Service Engineer to be based out of their Exton, PA facility. This person will travel extensively (up to 80% mostly in the US and Canada) to customer sites to provide installation, start-up, troubleshooting, training and maintenance support for the equipment we manufacture. This is a highly technical position that must be able to interact with customers in person, and via phone and email.  Specifically:

  • Customer service: work with customers via phone, e-mail, video calls and in person to resolve equipment issues.
  • Complete and sign off on various required reports -  troubleshooting and startup reports. This requires writing and recording of information manually and electronically.
  • Perform commissioning, start-up, and training for new equipment at the customer’s facility.  This includes installation check, functional testing, operational check, and then maintenance and operation training.
  • Preventative maintenance or service at customer’s facility for tasks the customer is not able to perform on their own.  Examples: changing bearings, changing mechanical seal, electrical troubleshooting, or rebuilding mill with new parts.
  • Provide technical support for customer property (parts or systems) that are returned to our facility for repair.  Assist customers and coworkers with technical support (part identification, reading drawings, answering questions, hands on support, etc.)
  • Provide technical support for converting equipment to newer model designs.
  • Train customers (onsite) on operating the equipment, maintenance and preventative maintenance, and how to use NETZSCH documentation.
  • Write and revise procedures for the service department.
  • Document project progress and provide status updates as required.
  • Travel as needed, up to 80%; both domestic and international travel. This includes booking hotel and flights if required, as well as completing related expense reports.

Previous experience working in a mechanical, hands-on position is preferred. Demonstrated mechanical ability or technical training will be considered in lieu of formal work experience. Current driver’s license and passport (or the ability to obtain one) is required. In addition, these skills are highly desirable:

  • The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and the ability to demonstrate mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • The ability to use mechanical hand tools and electrical trouble shooting tools
  • Must be able to travel, mostly in the US and Canada, up to 80%. (Very minimal travel will be on weekends.)

NETZSCH offers a full benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, Life, STD, LTD (eligibility begins 1st of the month after hire), 401k with Company match plus profit sharing and tuition reimbursement.
