Job description

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll contribute directly to the safety and enjoyment of our beaches. You’ll work at the frontline of beach services—protecting the public, responding to incidents, and ensuring safe swimming areas.
You’ll also play an important leadership role supporting lifeguards, maintaining equipment, and contributing to innovation and continuous improvement in beach operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor and maintain safe swimming areas
  • Respond to incidents, rescues and emergencies
  • Provide first aid and emergency care
  • Enforce local laws and beach regulations
  • Supervise and support casual lifeguards
  • Maintain beach safety equipment and vehicles
  • Inspect infrastructure and report hazards
  • Liaise with emergency services and stakeholders

What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a safety-focused, physically capable and community-minded professional. You’ll ideally bring:

  • SLSA Bronze Medallion or equivalent qualification
  • Advanced resuscitation and first aid certification
  • Strong knowledge of beach and surf conditions
  • Experience in emergency response and rescue
  • Ability to lead and support lifeguard teams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of local laws and beach regulations
