Overview Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing operations in Greenville, SC and Houston, TX. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems, water and waste systems, and equipment design Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations, and specifications Education Requirements Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) or more years of experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering Qualifications Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required Preferred Qualifications Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred Previous DOE/NNSA work experience Work Schedule Shift will be dependent upon customer site discretion.
