Job description
DOB鈥檚 Sustainability Outreach and Assistance unit advances compliance with the Energy Code and local laws related to sustainable buildings. The primary responsibilities of the unit include:
- Disseminating information both internally and externally
- Responding to technical and administrative inquiries from the public and elected officials
- Developing and providing materials and training to the public and interested stakeholders
- Maintaining informational resources and platforms
The year-round intern (College Aide) will assist with mail tracking, outreach, document review and drafting, organization, and research, all of which are integral to the unit's operations.
Under the direction and supervision of the unit Director, the Sustainability Outreach Intern will,
- Assist with mail return tracking and cataloging
- Assist with owner address and email reviews/research
- Assist with outreach phone calls to building owners and managers
- Assist with Sustainability Bureau webpage review and updates
- Assist with digital folder organization
- Perform research on issues, as directed
- Draft topic pieces for review and collaboration
- Other related tasks as assigned
WORK HOURS Up to 17 hours/week when school is in session Up to 35 hours/week during school break
COLLEGE AIDE (ALL CITY DEPTS) - 10209
For Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school. For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
SPECIAL NOTE Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
