DS Bus Lines Inc.

The Trainer role is tasked with preparing new and current employees with all relevant information and materials to perform the duties of their job. Mostly focused on drivers and driving assistants, the trainer will host training seminars, educational sessions, and repetitive training meetings to ensure all employees are up to date with best practices and current standards for the operations of their vehicles and completion of daily tasks.

The Mission

As our Safety Trainer, you are the backbone of our commitment to the Olathe community. Your goal is to empower our school bus drivers and monitors with the highest level of expertise. You will design, implement, and lead comprehensive training programs that ensure every student in the Olathe School District has a safe and positive journey to school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Create and refine safety training strategies, manuals, and instructional materials specifically for student transportation.

  • Hands-On Instruction: Lead onboarding for new hires and conduct ongoing safety seminars to keep all drivers up to date on best practices and state standards.

  • Needs Analysis: Conduct employee surveys and interviews to identify training gaps and develop schedules to address them.

  • Data & Compliance: Maintain a detailed database of all training records, monitor enrollment schedules, and track program costs.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Consult with leadership and Olathe School District partners to align training with current operational needs.

  • Quality Control: Test and review all instructional technology and materials to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience: One (1) year of professional working experience (experience in training, safety, or education is a plus).

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Skills: Strong public speaking abilities and the capacity to simplify complex safety regulations for a diverse workforce.

  • Dedication: A proactive mindset focused on student safety and operational excellence.
