We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
Our Airborne Antennas, Radome & Apertures team is recognized across the defense community as one of the most capable antenna and low observable (LO) engineering groups in the United States. Our engineers tackle some of the world’s toughest RF, antenna, and aperture challenges. We design high performance, highly integrated, mission critical antennas, radomes, and active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs).
We are seeking a Senior Antenna Design Engineer to drive the development of state-of-the-art AESAs, digital arrays, and multi-function RF/Microwave subsystems. This role is ideal for senior engineers who want to work on programs with national‑level importance and who excel at both deep technical analysis and hands‑on engineering leadership.
This position requires job duties to be performed onsite due to the sensitive nature of this work and the desire for in-person collaboration; however, we offer flexible in-office hours and the ability to perform some job duties remotely.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical leadership on the design, modeling, realization, and verification of advanced ultra‑wideband phased arrays.
- Work with a multidisciplined team to derive RF/Microwave and Antenna performance requirements (EIRP, G/T, P1dB, IP3, VSWR, etc.) from system functional requirements.
- Develop RF/Microwave and Antenna subsystem architectures to meet performance and Size, Weight, Power, and Cost (SWaP-C) requirements .
- Work with software, firmware, and digital hardware engineers to shape digital array backend requirements and architectures (ADC, DAC, FPGA and Processor resources, etc.).
- Use RF/Microwave analysis software to design and predict performance of RF/Microwave and Antenna subsystems.
- Exhibit exceptionally high level of innovation, creativity, and initiative.
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems involving antenna/sensor-based applications such as radar, electronic warfare, electronic attack, electronic support measures, communications, geolocation, direction finding, etc.
- Mentor and guide more junior engineers and technicians in the design, build, and test phases of projects and programs.
- Work with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.
- Participate in and guide the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics
- Contribute to technical proposals, concept generation, and competitive strategy for new business pursuits.
- Execute tasks requiring creativity, innovation, and independent technical judgment on high‑visibility programs.
- Present complex technical findings to internal leadership, external customers, and program stakeholders with clarity and authority.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of five (5) years of relevant RF engineering experience including any combination of the following:
- Design, simulation, fabrication, and test of RF/Microwave CCAs and modules, preferably including familiarity with the design of digital and power electronics
- Experience with microwave test equipment and calibration techniques especially use of a vector network analyzer; or experience in antenna range testing.
- Experience Troubleshooting RF/Microwave Antenna/AESA hardware, software and build/process issues down to the component levels
- Experience with system issues associated with RF design such as Noise Figure, Linearity, S-Parameters, Antenna Gain, Antenna Directivity, Side Lobe Levels, Rogue Oscillations, etc.
- Experience with common RF test equipment such as Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal & Pulse Generators, and Oscilloscopes
- Experience with using Keysight SystemVue, Keysight ADS, and MATLAB
- Experience leading technical tasks or project teams through design, analysis, build, and / or test.
