Job description
We are looking for a motivated and driven Junior Indirect Procurement Manager to join our growing Indirect Procurement team. In this role, you will support the development and execution of category strategies across a broad range of indirect spend areas (e.g. professional services, marketing, HR, facilities, IT, and other indirect categories).
You will work closely with senior procurement colleagues, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to help improve transparency, drive value, and continuously enhance procurement processes at zooplus. This position reports to the Procurement and is part of a small, collaborative, and hands‑on team shaping the future of Indirect Procurement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Category & Sourcing Support
- Support the development and execution of category strategies across various indirect spend areas.
- Independently manage tactical sourcing activities and assist in strategic sourcing activities such as RFQs/RFPs, supplier comparisons, and recommendation preparation.
Value Contribution
- Identify and support initiatives for cost savings, cost avoidance, and process improvements.
- Contribute to sourcing and negotiation projects while ensuring business continuity and supplier performance.
Data & Spend Analysis
- Analyze spend, supplier, and contract data to support decision‑making and identify optimization opportunities.
- Support basic Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and business case analyses.
Stakeholder & Supplier Interaction
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and procurement requirements.
- Support day‑to‑day communication with suppliers and help maintain effective working relationships.
Contract & Process Support
- Assist in contract preparation, reviews, and administration in collaboration with senior team members and Legal.
- Contribute to the improvement and documentation of procurement processes, templates, and guidelines.
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, finance, or a related business function.
- First exposure to indirect procurement categories is an advantage but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with an interest in working with data and numbers.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Structured, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
- Fluent English required; German is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience with procurement tools is a plus but not mandatory.
