Maintenance Team Manager
Avery Dennison is seeking a Maintenance Team Manager (OP7003) to lead our Painesville, Ohio Films Facility. In this role, you will plan and direct the activities of the maintenance team, providing critical manufacturing support to resolve safety, quality, and production issues. You will serve as a grounded leader and change-agent, providing direction to maintenance technicians and technical staff with a dedicated focus on Safety, Reliability, Planned and Predictive Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities
As a "hands-on" leader, you will be responsible for the following activities:
Self-Leadership & Agility: Adapt quickly to changing production needs and new information to ensure maximum use of available capacity and labor.
Safety & Values: Promote safety as the most important value. Lead monthly safety meetings, daily huddles, and ensure the Mechanical Integrity Program complies with OSHA PSM guidelines.
Team Leadership: Build a high-performing, diverse team by providing coaching, training, and regular feedback through our Global Performance Management System. You will manage work schedules, alter plans for unforeseen conditions, and drive accountability for results.
Operational Excellence: Lead implementation of TPM, 5S, and preventive maintenance schedules to lessen downtime. Manage the work order system (CMMS) and spare parts inventory to minimize operating costs.
Collaboration: Forge strategic relationships with Maintenance peers across the Avery Dennison network and partner with outside suppliers to optimize service contracts and equipment longevity.
Strategic Support: Assist with capital projects, facility modifications, and provide technical guidance for process stability and waste reduction.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership competencies:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (e.g., Engineering) is preferred.
Experience: 6+ years of operational experience required, with 3–5 years of demonstrated success in a plant maintenance or engineering leadership role.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and automation.
Leadership Competencies: Proven ability to Display Agility, Champion Collaboration, and Deliver Results. You must be skilled in resolving conflicts and translating differences into positive outcomes.
Process Expertise: Familiarity with Lean principles (ELS), OSHA PSM, and ISO 9000 procedures.
Systems: Strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Google Platform, and CMMS such as Agility or MP2.
The salary range for this position is $75,300 - $112,448 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
